Taranaki Aviatrix - Zelda Annette Parker

Taranaki Aviatrix 1928 ? 1930

Born in 1917, Zelda Parker joined the New Plymouth Aero club in its infancy, back in 1930.

Her address listed on the local Electoral Roll was 435 Devon Street East, NP. Her flying log
books are held in Puke Ariki, and list her flying experiences between 10 April 1938 and May 1940.

It appears the War years may have curtailed her flying career. Zelda logged her first solo in red ink with:

.. ten glorious minutes in Gypsy Moth 1562.

One of her great joys was taking passengers over the city of New Plymouth.

We salute the achievements of Zelda Annette Parker, a true pioneer among aspiring female pilots across Taranaki.
